The government has rejected the opposition's claim of ignoring the mother tongue and said that it ‘’continues to implement Telugu as a compulsory subject in all schools. Semester wise bilingual textbooks from Classes 1 to 6 already developed for the academic year 2020-21 and class 7 under development.’’
